Direct Frame
I built the framing tool I wanted on set. Direct Frame turns your phone into a director’s viewfinder: pick a cinema aspect ratio, dial in a lens from 14 to 125mm, and stack the framing guides you need — thirds, golden spiral, symmetry, one-point perspective and more — right over your camera. A Sun Guide reads the light and tells you where to stand.

I use it to scout shots before the real camera ever comes out — for my films, and yes, for the cooking videos too. A built-in shot board lets you save scouted frames and organize them by project.
Tip: on iPhone, open it in Safari, tap Share → Add to Home Screen, and it runs full-screen like a native app.
Native apps for iOS and Android are in the works.
